Seriously, Brett Favre, Again?
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Editorials, Free Agency

The seemingly neverending saga of Brett Favre continues and at this point, we need to start calling his bluff and call BS on the future Hall of Famer. Favre says that he is retired and has even had his agent confirm this, but didn’t this happen last year as well? Fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice, shame on me, but only, you aren’t going to fool me again because I’m not buying it. And, deep down, the Minnesota Vikings aren’t either and will soon be checking on Favre despite what Vikings coach Brad Childress is saying during their rookie minicamp. Tavaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, and John David Booty… Brett Favre. Yeah, I can’t blame the Vikings, especially considering how much Favre wanted to play there last year before the Green Bay Packers traded him to the New York Jets.
Well, with the recent release from the Jets, Favre looks like he’ll have a clear path to join the NFC North Packers rival, Vikings. But Brett Favre says he’s retired. And so does his agent. So, he’s retired. NOT! Soon enough, every sports website will have the headline, “Brett Favre signs with the Minnesota Vikings” and I hope we all treat it like old news and say, “Duh.”

I guess that favre and his well deserved ego has even got the press acting like fans and running around like high school girls worrying if favre will play or not and with whom. Guys, give it a break! Football, especially pro football is a BIG business. Favre is making big money and having a ball. If he is manipulating all of football to get his way, it’s because they let him. He is easily the best in football and I’d love to see him play wherever, and I hate the vikings. I guess from all the flak that everyone else would love to see him play too, oh yeah, for their team.
Man Brett Favre just needs to retire He’s 40 years old and he has enough money so why doesn’t he spend time with his family. Plus he won’t live through the season.

God I hope not. He needs to just stay retired. The Vikings would be dumb to hire him unless it’s for a coaching job. He’ll never be effective for a whole 17 week season. Hell, he’s lucky if he’s healthy for a whole 17 week season. All he is doing is tainting his Hall of Fame career.
